HRC's HIV and Health Equity (HHE) Foundation Program partnered with CVS to create and distribute free Safer Sex Health Kits that included OraQuick At-Home HIV Self-Testing Kits. Each kit included information cards with QR codes leading to both an English and Spanish video explaining the process of taking an OraQuick At-Home HIV Self-Testing Kit. I worked closely with the HHE team to produce each script for the videos, coordinated with HRC's HHE Digital partner to plan filming with talent, directed and filmed each How-To video, and edited both versions. This project required me to act as Producer from start to finish and take on many roles.
HRC Research Team Debunks Misinformation on Health Care for Transgender People
In this video The Human Rights Campaign's team of Research Experts takes a look at Jamie Reed testimony to debunk and correct the harmful misinformation that is being spread by so-called "experts" on health care of transgender people. On this project I worked as the Editor to comb through two, 30-minute live debunking reaction videos and stitch them together with the actual testimony to effectively debunk dangerous disinformation from being spread.
HRC Foundation & SAGE's Long-term Care Equality Index (LEI) - Jan and Norma at Edenwald
Jan and Norma were a hoot to interview. Their story inspires the HRC Foundation and many others to continue creating safe and welcoming communities for LGBTQ+ elders. My pre-production duties included drafting interview questions, and scheduling interviews with Jan, Norma, and Edenwald President Mark. While at the Edenwald community, I filmed broll across the community campus, set up lighting, sound, and the camera for interviews, and conducted the interviews. After filming was complete I cut down hours of interview footage into a concise 4-minute narrative that captures the playfulness and love of Jan and Norma and the importance of validating communities like Edenwald.
Drag Story Hour -Banned Books Week
In celebration of Banned Books Week, the Human Rights Campaign partnered with Drag Story Hour to provide families everywhere with an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ+ stories and spread a message of inclusivity and acceptance for all. After advocating to produce a campaign focusing on drag artists reading banned books for the upcoming banned books week, I worked together with the Digital team to coordinate with drag queens across the country, created a show-flow and wrote a script for the in-house shoot, edited the full video, and utilized Restream.io to schedule and execute a multi-platform livestream release of the readings.
MPox - What You Need to Know
HRC, along with the White House National Response Deputy Coordinator Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, worked together to answer some of the most pressing questions about the MPox outbreak. As an in-house studio shoot, I was in charge of setting up the studio and acting as the videographer and editor for this educational video, as well as 4 shorter edits for social media release, here:
